Weekend Review...

Ah yes, the weekend in spotlight...My working party...my chore of fun...that's right, my bartending notes.

Friday night- Local event promoter was leaving town with his girlfriend who was leaving to complete school. Now this girlfriend is a bartender as well at a nice hole-in-the-wall place down the road (5mins) from my house. So needless to say the two of them throwing a going away party was good news to me...All bar staff and bands in the crowd. Loosely translate that into guaranteed good tips...Lets just say I made more this night than I had 4 other bar shifts combined...ahh, bills say goodbye!

Saturday afternoon...I didn't get out of bed except to drink a slimfast shake...drink a coke "zero"...and put my contacts in.

*Sidenote*_ Coke "zero" is the most amazing thing ever! I'm a "I only drink water, no pop/soda for me" kinda guy. Hell the closest I used to get was mineral water (cuz its carbonated)...But now...my fridge is always STOCKED full of Coke "zero". No calories, no carbs, no high-fructose corn stuff, no nuttin', but lots O' flavor...this is a train you need to get abord. I realize I sound like an advertisement here, and for that, I appologize...but seriously...try it.

*where was I?? Oh yeah*

So i sat in bed watching DVD's on my laptop, surfing the web etc...good times...

when I finally "rose" I ate two steaks then went to work...tough life I know.

Saturday night- Nothing special...a little house music, a little techno, a little Jungle. I ran into a DJ I used to know years ago...Actually if I remember correctly, a girl I used to date cheated on me with him...although it wasn't really cheating, since It was a 3 week relationship and I hadn't actually slept with the girl yet (I was pretty young) But "water under the bridge"...It was fun reminissing about old-school rave days in Detroit.

Sunday...the big "kicker"!! One of my fellow bartender's and a close friend is leaving for Chicago to go to Law school...I love this girl. When you talk about cool, she's it. When I first met her she was just some girl my buddy was dating that I thought was too hot for him, I wasn't jealous mind you...but proud of him. And mentioned said fact to my girlfriend at the time (the ex I always talk about) *you can also read the previous sentences as...you cant be jealous of your boy and a girl he's with when you have a girl of your own**

Anyhow, we obvously thew her a going away party...which, of couse HAD to be an 80's dance party...and HAD to be karaoke too...which, at this point might as well add costume party too....So we had an 80's theme karaoke costume dance party for her...

So I had tried for weeks to find a Ferris Beuller outfit...to no avail (leopard print vests not easy to come by). So my fall back, and as it turns out, far funnier outfit...was George Micheal!! Yup, I bleached out a pair of womens jeans I bought (coincidentally I bleached them for WAY too long)....found a cheap cross earring...feathered my hair back..."wife beater" tank-top...black leather jacket...oh yeah! I even went so far as to cut the jeans up...including the trademark 80's rips that go just below the but...you ladies know the one's I mean. I looked rediculous...it was great. Everyone sang horribly, me included, and we loved it...

*Sidenote*_Reason for womens jeans...nothing for men was tight enough to get that 80's feel...it's also handy (not at all) to know what womens garments size I am...(size 8 for those who are curious)

Anyhow, A good time was had by all...and if I get brave, I'll post some pictures for later.
