Construction

I just need to complain real quick...

Michigan has just about the worst roads in the nation. This is kinda ironic considering we are the birthplace of the vehicle. Not to mention, public transportation is pretty much "nil"...auto companies being the largest employers in the state means the state doesn't much care for anything not auto-related. So the roads here being terrible is kinda rediculous. It stand to reason though; we have cold winters and hot humid summers...this takes it's toll...i get it.

The real problem comes from the fact that our summers are soo short that all construction/road repair must be fit into a very short period of time. Right now in michigan there is a total of one...I repeat ONE...highway that doesn't have construction on it. This is according to the news...but quite frankly I haven't found that "one" yet.

Anyway...I'm tired of detours, long waits behing big trucks, and avoiding orange cones every time I get in my car. I'm just not OK with it. I dont like a 30min drive becoming a full hour trek through a maze of lazy union workers unused cranes and steamrollers...not to mention more driving when gas is $3.20 a gallon...boo...boo I say...boo.

sorry, just needed to vent.
